15 Cr Documents Available For Public Viewing on MHADA Website

Mumbai, July 26, 2025: In a major step toward transparent governance, The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has made 15 crore documents available for public viewing on its website. The initiative has been implemented under the Direction of MHADA Vice-President and CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal through proactive disclosure as provided under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
The move fulfils the commitment announced in April, where MHADA stated its intent to place scanned official records from all regional boards in the public domain. Citizens can now view these records without filing separate applications under the RTI Act.
The documents have been uploaded in a department-wise format and include circulars, tenders, office orders, internal remarks, approvals and other official materials. Sensitive or classified records, such as those related to lottery processes, have been excluded from public access.
According to Jaiswal, safeguards have been put in place to ensure there is no human intervention in the access process and confidentiality is strictly maintained where applicable.
Citizens may access the records through the Citizen Corner section of MHADA’s website. Registration is required, including name, mobile number, gender, date of birth, user ID and password, and agreement to the platform’s terms and conditions. Identity verification through Aadhaar or PAN with OTP confirmation is mandatory. Once verified, citizens will be able to view official documents from various departments.
To ensure data security, downloading or capturing screenshots of the documents is not permitted. Users must state a reason when viewing documents. All access activity is recorded and stored for administrative reference.
All documents available through the platform are authenticated using secure e-certification. The system is protected with SSL encryption and has passed a full cyber security audit. The website interface has also been redesigned for better navigation, and services have been digitally notified under the Right to Public Services Act.
The initiative has been undertaken in accordance with Directions from the Maharashtra government to make institutional services more accessible and citizen-focused.
