UP RERA Launches 19th Real Estate Agent Training Programme in Lucknow
Lucknow/Gautam Buddh Nagar: The four-day 19th Real Estate Agent Training Session commenced on Wednesday at the Indian Literacy Board, Lucknow, under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA). The session was inaugurated by Sanjay Bhoosreddy, Chairman, UP RERA, who lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of the event.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, including secretary Mahendra Verma, Joint secretary Umashankar Singh, financial adviser Sudhanshu Tripathi, Indian Literacy Board adviser Praveen Tandon and Assistant Director (IT) Amrish Kumar.
Bhoosreddy said that promoters, agents and RERA are intrinsically linked, working together under the provisions of the RERA Act for realising the shared objective of the consumer’s investment security and the growth of a healthy and competitive real estate sector as a driver of the state’s development.
He highlighted that irregular practices by some promoters and real estate agents had tarnished the reputation of the real estate sector in the past, necessitating the establishment of RERA to ensure accountability and transparency in the sector.

Bhoosreddy underlined the significant role real estate agents play in the sector and stressed the importance of regular training programmes conducted by UP RERA to enhance their professionalism. He encouraged agents to study relevant laws such as the Apartment Ownership Act to gain deeper insight into the sector and strengthen their expertise.
He motivated the participants and told them that passing the examination is mandatory. Successful candidates will receive their certificates in a fortnight in a ceremony held at the RERA headquarters. Subsequently, their credentials will be uploaded to the RERA portal so that they can apply online for registration as real estate agents. Their applications will be scrutinised by RERA and registration certificates issued if the applications are complete.
They can work as real estate agents after getting the registration certificate. He further advised the agents to share only verified information, including the information relating to the projects available on the RERA portal with clients.
Bhoosreddy urged agents to closely track the projects, provide accurate information to buyers and informally raise concerns if a promoter makes misleading claims. He also advised agents to regularly see the Quarterly Progress Report of the project. He informed the participants that nodal officers nominated by RERA are available to address their concerns promptly via email.
Verma also interacted with participants, introduced them to upcoming sessions and speakers and emphasised the importance of ethical practices in the industry.
The first session was by Tripathi, who spoke on UP RERA regulations on project accounts, followed by an in-depth discussion. The first day included expert-led classes on key provisions of the Contract Act, Transfer of Property Act, guidelines for project promotion and marketing, agent portal functionalities and the Stamp and Registration Act.
The four-day programme aims to strengthen professionalism among real estate agents, enhance sector transparency and ensure better consumer protection.
