Urban Growth, Policy and Youth Engagement Take Focus at GIHED Property Olympiad

Ahmedabad, January 14, 2026: As Gujarat’s real estate sector continues to play a central role in the state’s urbanisation and infrastructure growth, the 20th GIHED Property Olympiad emerged as a key platform for dialogue between government, industry and citizens. Organised by CREDAI Ahmedabad–GIHED at the GMDC Ground in Ahmedabad, the three-day property expo brought together developers, investors, policymakers and urban stakeholders to deliberate on policy, planning and sustainable city development, with Ganesh Housing serving as a key partner.

Harsh Sanghvi, Minister of State for Home, Industries, Youth and Sports, Government of Gujarat, attended the event as the chief guest. Among the key sessions was a panel discussion featuring Shekhar Patel, Managing Director and CEO of Ganesh Housing Ltd, alongside Harsh Sanghvi. The discussion focused on ease of doing business, policy-led infrastructure development and the role of organised real estate in supporting Gujarat’s urban growth.

Addressing the audience, Shekhar Patel, Managing Director and CEO, Ganesh Housing Ltd, said, “The organised real estate sector has a critical role to play in supporting Gujarat’s urban growth. Strong policy frameworks, long-term planning and close collaboration between government and industry are essential to building cities that are resilient, sustainable and aligned with public interest.”

The Olympiad also featured YouthCon 2026, a youth-focused platform aimed at encouraging young professionals and entrepreneurs to engage in conversations on urban development. Anmol Patel, Director, Ganesh Housing Ltd, participated in the session, highlighting the role of youth, innovation and community-centric approaches in shaping future-ready urban ecosystems of Ahmedabad. He emphasised the importance of innovative thinking, sustainable planning and community-centric development models in addressing the evolving needs of rapidly growing urban centres.

Speaking at YouthCon 2026, Anmol Patel, Director, Ganesh Housing Ltd, said, “Youth today are not just entering the workforce; they are shaping how cities will grow, function and sustain themselves. As Ahmedabad prepares to host major national and global sporting events, long-term infrastructure planning and smart urban development will be critical. This presents an opportunity for young professionals to bring fresh ideas, adopt an entrepreneurial mindset and blend traditional industry expertise with digital tools and modern business models to build future-ready urban ecosystems.”

Speaking at the event, Minister Harsh Sanghvi outlined the state government’s focus on infrastructure development, governance reforms, public safety and youth empowerment, while acknowledging the contribution of the real estate sector in shaping modern urban environments.

The 20th GIHED Property Olympiad reinforced the importance of collaborative engagement, innovation and cross-generational dialogue in shaping the future of urban development in Gujarat.
