Maharashtra Minister Ashish Shelar Unveils ‘The Five Elements’ Art Installations in Bandra West to Celebrate Local Heritage

Mumbai, April 25, 2026: In a significant move to enhance the city’s aesthetic and cultural landscape, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Ashish Shelar officially unveiled ‘The Five Elements’ art installations at the Linking Road junction in Bandra West. The project, a collaborative effort between Notandas Realty and acclaimed artist Sangeeta Babani, serves as a public tribute to the local heritage and vibrant spirit of the Bandra locality. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Corporator Swapna Mhatre, District President Virendra Mhatre, and Assistant Municipal Commissioner of H-West Ward Dinesh Pallewad from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the company said in a press release.

The initiative aligns with a broader vision to integrate art into the daily lives of Mumbaikars. Shelar, who oversees the Cultural Affairs and Information Technology Departments, has been a vocal advocate for regional heritage, recently securing the UNESCO World Heritage certificate for 12 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj forts in France and spearheading the Art Deco Alive! Festival. This latest installation marks another milestone in his ongoing efforts to promote cultural innovation across Maharashtra. Notandas Realty has mirrored this commitment by focusing on urban beautification and the transformation of public spaces through curated artworks and unique structural designs.
Beyond their visual appeal, ‘The Five Elements’ installations are intended to serve as a cultural focal point for the Bandra community, fostering a sense of local pride and leaving a lasting legacy in the neighborhood. The project has already garnered significant public acclaim, prompting Notandas Realty to announce plans for similar cultural landmarks across other Mumbai sectors in the near future. The unveiling event also featured key figures from the development firm, including Managing Director Mr. Harsh Jagwani and Mr. Mahesh Jagwani, who joined the government dignitaries to celebrate the successful launch of the installation.
