Parkobot Launches AI and IoT Powered Platform to Decongest Urban Centres
Kolkata, July 1, 2026: Parkobot, a Kolkata-based mobility technology startup, has announced the launch of its integrated smart parking platform designed to combine proprietary IoT hardware, intelligent cloud software, and a consumer mobile application to help decongest cities across the world. Built specifically for the realities of Indian cities, the platform operates on the belief that India’s parking challenge is fundamentally one of access and utilisation rather than a shortage of land. Parkobot enables property owners, institutions, and commercial establishments to transform underutilised parking spaces into digitally discoverable, bookable, and revenue-generating assets, Parkobot said in a press release.
Unlike conventional solutions that focus exclusively on software or hardware, Parkobot has developed an end-to-end ecosystem comprising IoT-enabled parking devices, mobile applications, cloud-based management systems, digital payments, reservation capabilities, and access control technologies. Through the Parkobot app, users can pre-book and reserve private parking spaces equipped with proprietary IoT-enabled parking locks that ensure access only to authorised users. This infrastructure has been engineered to address India’s unique parking challenges, including fragmented ownership, mixed-use properties, fluctuating demand patterns, and the lack of organised parking infrastructure.
The company currently manages around 1,600 parking spots in Kolkata alone and is in the process of activating another 4,000 spaces in the city. On a pan-India level, 30,000 parking spaces across five major metropolitan cities are being added onto the platform as part of its expansion strategy. The company has already established a presence in ten cities, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad, where similar initiatives will be rolled out in phases.
By bringing privately owned parking inventory onto a shared access platform, the company aims to help reduce congestion in urban centres. Under this initiative, available parking slots can be booked and accessed via the app, while hosts retain control over access and earn a share of the booking revenue. Parkobot leverages the concept of Time of Day (TOD), allowing parking owners to generate passive income by making their spaces available through the app during periods when they are not using them personally. Beyond affordability, Parkobot also offers in-app indoor navigation, helping users locate their designated parking spaces with ease and improving the overall parking experience.
With introductory pricing aimed at making parking significantly more affordable, slots can be accessed at an introductory rate of ₹10 per hour across Kolkata via subscription packs. This pricing is available on a subscription pack of ₹2,999 per month, which provides 300 hours of parking per month. With the launch of this initiative, key locations across Kolkata, including Park Street, Poddar Court, La Martiniere, Passport Office, and Diamond Plaza, will offer accessible parking benefiting motorists as well as nearby residential communities.
The company has raised ₹2.09 crore from Inflection Point Ventures (IPV) and high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), and is targeting an Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) of ₹20 crore by FY27. Over the next 12 months, Parkobot plans to further scale operations across Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.
“India’s urban centres are witnessing a growing mismatch between rising vehicle ownership and the availability of organised parking. Millions of parking spaces remain underutilised even as vehicle owners struggle to find convenient parking,” said Amrit Choudhury, Founder and CEO of Parkobot. “At the same time, offices, malls and commercial establishments possess valuable parking assets that often remain vacant for extended periods and generate little or no revenue. Parkobot bridges this gap by transforming underutilised spaces into smart, revenue-generating assets through a technology-driven platform integrating parking, digital payments, reservations and access management. Our launch in Kolkata marks the beginning of a larger vision to create a networked parking infrastructure that enables users to seamlessly discover, pre-reserve and pay for parking spots, while allowing property owners to unlock value from their unused real estate assets.”
