UP RERA Launches Agent Training Programme to Enhance Professionalism and Homebuyer Protection
Lucknow, August 5, 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has launched its 46th Real Estate Agent Training and Certification Programme. Organized in association with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, the four-day training programme commenced on Wednesday at the NIET Campus in Greater Noida, attracting a total of 62 participants from various districts of Uttar Pradesh. Upon successful completion of the training and subsequent examination, participants will become eligible to apply for registration as certified real estate agents under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act. UP RERA said in a press release.
The inaugural session was held virtually by UP RERA Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy, while Revenue Recovery Officer Anshuman Singh and Deputy Secretary Pankaj Saxena lit the ceremonial lamp at the venue. The opening session was also attended online by Secretary Mahendra Verma, Principal Advisor Abrar Ahmad, Joint Secretary K.K. Singh, and Finance Consultant Sudhanshu Tripathi. Prakash Pandey represented Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, in person at the venue.
In his inaugural address, Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy underlined the critical importance of structured training and certification in building a more transparent, responsible, and professionally managed real estate sector in Uttar Pradesh. He stated that the programme is designed to equip aspiring real estate agents with an in-depth understanding of the RERA Act, its rules, and regulatory framework, enabling them to carry out their professional responsibilities with greater competence and integrity.
Addressing the broader industry landscape, the Chairman observed that the real estate sector has faced several longstanding challenges that have affected developers, agents, and homebuyers alike. He noted that the establishment of RERA has been instrumental in addressing these concerns by fostering transparency, accountability, and consumer confidence across the industry. He also informed participants that a qualifying examination will be conducted at the conclusion of the training, and candidates who successfully clear it will receive certification to apply for registration as licensed real estate agents.
Reiterating the Authority’s broader vision, Bhoosreddy said that UP RERA is committed not only to enforcing regulatory compliance but also to creating a trustworthy, transparent, and consumer-focused real estate ecosystem that inspires greater public confidence.
The opening day featured a series of technical expert sessions covering key regulatory and legal frameworks. Revenue Recovery Officer Anshuman Singh conducted an extensive session detailing the provisions of the RERA Act, UP RERA Rules and Regulations, alongside the rights and responsibilities of allottees. Vinay Agrahari delivered a presentation explaining the functioning and key features of the UP RERA online portal, while Advocate Divyanshu Saraswat concluded the technical schedule with a detailed discussion on relevant provisions of the Indian Contract Act and the Transfer of Property Act.
UP RERA has made training and certification a mandatory prerequisite for the registration of real estate agents to raise professional standards, encourage ethical business practices, and safeguard homebuyers’ interests. With the launch of this 46th batch, UP RERA has conducted 45 training programmes across Lucknow and Greater Noida, registering over 3,000 candidates and completing training for 1,998 participants. Examination results have been declared up to the 41st batch, with 1,713 candidates successfully qualifying to date.
