Three underpasses for Gurgaon e-way get nod

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday approved three different integrated schemes, mainly underpasses, which are expected to allow uninterrupted flow of traffic at Gurgaon’s main bottlenecks at Rajiv Chowk, Signature Tower and Iffco Chowk. The total cost of the projects is estimated to be Rs 779 crore.
Khattar was presiding over a meeting of senior officers of various departments in Chandigarh.
It was appraised in the meeting that the report of the project had been prepared by Delhi Integrated Multimodal Transit System Limited (DIMTS). Khattar made it clear that no separate toll tax will be collected on these routes, and encouraged exploration of possibilities of an exit to Udyog Vihar on the Delhi to Gurgaon route.
The CM approved an estimated expenditure of Rs 224 crore for Rajiv Chowk, Rs 248 crore for Signature Tower and Rs 307 crore for Iffco Chowk. HUDA will bear 25 per cent of the expenditure of the project, National Highways Authority of India another 25 per cent and NCR Planning Board the balance 50 per cent.
