Bajel Projects Secures Record Rs 1,500 Crore Transmission Order For Renewable Energy Infrastructure

Mumbai, October 27, 2026: Power transmission firm Bajel Projects Limited has secured multiple Letters of Award (LOAs) from Lakadia A Power Transmission Limited for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) work on a major transmission corridor in Gujarat, according to a press release issued by the company.
The combined value of the LOAs stands at approximately Rs 1,500 crore, marking the largest transmission order in Bajel Projects’ history. Under the company’s project classification policy, the contract qualifies as an ultra-mega order.
Lakadia A Power Transmission Limited is a special-purpose vehicle transferred by PFC Consulting Limited to AnantGrid Projects One Private Limited (AGPOPL), a joint venture owned 74 percent by the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) and 26 percent by Bajel Projects Limited. AGPOPL won the tariff-based competitive bidding for the project in August 2026.
The project scope includes the construction of approximately 270 kilometers of 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines connecting Halvad to Vadodara in Gujarat, along with additional substation works at Halvad, Vadodara, and South Olpad. The project forms a critical part of the infrastructure required to evacuate nearly 14 GW of renewable power from the high-potential zones of Lakadia, Jam Khambhaliya, and Jamnagar in Gujarat, supporting India’s national goal of reaching 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030.

“Securing this landmark ~ ₹ 1,500 crore* project, the largest transmission order in Bajel Projects’ history, is a proud milestone that reflects the strength of our execution capabilities, technical expertise, and the trust placed in us by our stakeholders. This project is the result of a successful collaboration between Bajel, NIIF, and AnantGrid, and a significant step towards strengthening India’s transmission infrastructure for large-scale renewable energy integration. This project uniquely positions us as we take up the dual role of an EPC partner and a project developer. As the country advances towards its ambitious clean energy goals, we remain committed to delivering world-class transmission networks that are reliable, sustainable, and future-ready, while creating long-term value for our customers and the nation,” said Rajesh Ganesh, Managing Director & CEO, Bajel Projects Limited.
