The contracts cover Package CP09 for track works and electrical systems, and Package CP10 for signalling, telecommunications, and platform screen doors. The project marks the development of Bangladesh’s first underground metro system. Prior to this, L&T delivered the integrated railway systems package for Dhaka Metro Line 6, which is currently operational.

Under the CP09 package, L&T and its partner Sumitomo Corporation will handle the design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of track works, power supply, traction substations, and overhead catenary systems. For CP10, L&T will execute the signalling, telecommunication, and platform screen door systems across the entire network to establish the core operational infrastructure for the metro line.
