Union Minister Pralhad Joshi Inaugurates SECI’s New Corporate Office In New Delhi
New Delhi, October 30, 2026: Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Education, and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Pralhad Joshi, inaugurated the new corporate office of Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) at the World Trade Centre, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi, according to a press release.
The inauguration took place in the presence of Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, MNRE, Akash Tripathi, Managing Director, SECI, alongside senior management and employees of the organization.
Acknowledging the contribution of the company on the occasion, Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, stated, “SECI has developed into an important institution in the implementation of the Government of India’s renewable energy goals. Its responsibilities today extend well beyond solar energy to renewable power procurement, energy storage, project development and power trading. As India’s clean energy ambitions continue to grow, so do SECI’s responsibilities.”
He added: “Its expanding involvement in battery energy storage, green hydrogen, floating solar, rooftop solar and innovative clean energy solutions demonstrate its readiness to support the next phase of our energy transition. So, I urge SECI to strengthen its engagement with State Governments, DISCOMs and transmission agencies to match India’s ambitious growth in the renewable energy sector. I congratulate SECI on the inauguration of its new corporate office and extend my best wishes to its officers for the responsibilities ahead.”
Established in 2011 to facilitate the National Solar Mission, SECI has expanded its scope to oversee renewable energy procurement, power trading, project development, and energy storage across the country.
The move to its new corporate headquarters coincides with the completion of fifteen years of operation for SECI. The new premises at the World Trade Centre will centralize corporate functions and support coordination across its technical, commercial, financial, and administrative operations.
