DDA simplifies lift policy for old flats
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has further simplified the lift policy to help people install lifts in old flats built by the Authority.
According to a report published in a leading daily, the proposal was approved at a meeting chaired by Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung on Wednesday. Along with this, other proposals regarding change of development control norms for night shelters and state bhawans or guesthouses were also given a go-ahead.
As per the revised lift policy, which was notified in May 2011 and revised in August 2012, unauthorised construction has been delinked from obtaining no objection certificate. Also, DDA has granted in-principle NOC to DDA flat-owners in de-notified areas. The validity of permission has also been increased from three to five years.
To create adequate infrastructure for homeless people, DDA has made major changes in the development control norms for night shelters. Now, the Government will get 60 percent ground coverage as against the present 30 percent.
The agency has also decided to modify the Master Plan of Delhi 2021 and create a separate category for state bhawans or guesthouses. DDA officials said separate development control norms have been framed for it.
