Collaboration of SAIL and IIT Kharagpur on Science of Happiness
New Delhi, 12th February, 2018: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has joined hands with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur’s Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness. This initiative of SAIL is aimed at embracing Science of Happiness for enhancing wellbeing and effectiveness of its employees and to enable them to contribute in a meaningful way towards the vision of the organisation.
The Rekhi Centre of Excellence for Science of Happiness was set up in IIT Kharagpur in 2016 with a vision to promote the science and practice of positivity for fostering meaningful life, happiness, wellbeing and holistic self-development. The centre has already entered into collaborative ventures with Government of Madhya Pradesh and Civic body of New Town Kolkata. SAIL becomes the first corporate to collaborate with the Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness.
SAIL’s collaborative endeavour consisted of a recently concluded week-long ‘Train the Trainer Programme’ at the Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness. Through the Train the Trainers programme titled “The Happy and Innovative way to Workplace” a batch of21executives of SAIL has been developed as resource persons for conducting interventions using concepts of Science of Happiness. In this programme the participants were given various conceptual and practical inputs on science of happiness which included concepts related to Positive Psychology, Power of Anonymous Work, Biology of Belief, Nudge, Altruism, Power of Gratitude, measurements of body parameters through Bio-Feedback mechanisms and Mindfulness Practices. SAIL will further conduct more such training programs for its employees.
