MoHUA assists states and UTs in developing urban infra: Minister
Urban development is a state subject, however, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs facilitates and assists states and UTs in development of urban infrastructure.
This was stated by Minister of State in MoHUA Kaushal Kishore in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on July 29.
The ministry does this through its flagship missions, schemes and projects, like AMRUT, Smart Cities Mission, PMAY-U, Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban and Metro Rail projects, he said.
He also informed the House that these missions/schemes/projects are implemented by the states and UTs in accordance with the Mission guidelines and Central assistance under these schemes is released to the states and UTs.
