PM unveils NBCC built statue of freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose
New Delhi, September 8, 2022: Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, unveiled the iconic statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate on September 8, 2022 which has been installed by NBCC.
The 28 feet tall towering statue of Netaji is one of the tallest, monolithic, handmade sculptures in India. Fabrication and erection of steel structure required to roll and install the statue in required location involved 125 Mt structural steel and 36 nos. customized rollers each weighing approx. 800 kgs. Two Cranes each of 200 Mt capacity, 5 boom lifts, 2 seizer lifts , 6 Hydras, Winch machine, Hydraulic lifts etc were mobilized.
Statue was loaded on trailer at NGMA campus and was transported near the campus. After that it was lifted and kept at the fabricated platform on which rollers were fixed to roll the statue to required location. With the help of the winch statue was pulled over the roller and was brought under the canopy. The foundation for the steel structure was also designed in such a way it did not require any dismantling of the existing ground.
