CBRE India Appoints Shivakumara Arehalli as Head of Health, Safety & Environment for the Project Management business
February 19, 2024 – CBRE South Asia Pvt. Ltd, on Monday announced the appointment of Shivakumara Arehalli as Head – Health, Safety & Environment for their PJM (Project Management) division in India.
In his role, Shivakumara will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing a safe working environment for the project teams across India on all CBRE-led projects and will ensure a zero-injury work environment. He will also be responsible for assessing health and safety risks in the projects, providing safety education along with safety hazard avoidance planning. His role includes site safety inspection and audits. His role encompasses ensuring compliance at sites in accordance with the policies and procedures, contracts and good engineering practices.
Shivakumara has earned a high degree of expertise in planning and handling construction works related to earthwork, working at height, electrical safety, hazardous energy lockout and tag out, confined spaces, and cranes. He has led several notable projects during his previous assignments. Shivakumara has more than 21 years of professional expertise in the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) domain, demonstrating a successful tenure across diverse organizations. Before joining CBRE India, he served at STT Global Data Centers India Private Limited. Prior to that, he held key roles at a global property consultancy and IBM India Private Limited, showcasing his extensive experience and leadership in the field. Additionally, he has made significant contributions to the field through his achievements in team management, contractor evaluation, evidence-based HSE review methods, and implementation of paperless construction site initiatives.
Shivakumara holds a Graduate Programme in Construction Safety Management from NICMAR Pune and a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Environmental Engineering Science) from Vishweshwariah Technological University. He is recognized as a Chartered Safety Professional with expertise in handling industrial buildings, high-rise base buildings, logistics parks, warehouses, and corporate fitouts. He is a Certified Safety Personnel CSP® by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, USA, showcasing his dedication to top-tier safety standards in Health, Safety & Environment.
