MHADA To Conduct 9th Lokshahi Din for Public Grievance Redressal on February 10

Mumbai, February 7, 2025: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) will conduct the ninth Lokshahi Din on February 10, 2025, under the chairmanship of Sanjeev Jaiswal, IAS, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, MHADA. The event will be held at 12 noon in the conference hall on the fourth floor of Grihanirman Bhavan, Bandra (East), Mumbai.

MHADA has been organizing Lokshahi Din on the second Monday of every month since January 2024 to ensure timely resolution of citizen’s grievances. So far, eight such sessions have been conducted, receiving an overwhelming response from the public. A total of 81 applications have been received, of which 75 cases have been resolved, reflecting the initiative’s effectiveness in addressing public concerns.

To ensure quick resolution, officials from the relevant departments and boards will be present at the Lokshahi Din, allowing citizens to directly address their concerns to senior officers. This mechanism ensures efficient decision-making and enhances public confidence in the system. Citizens who participated in previous sessions have expressed satisfaction over the swift redressal of their grievances.

Applicants must submit their requests in the prescribed format, which includes Forms 1A to D, available on MHADA’s official website (https://mhada.gov.in). The grievance or representation must be of a personal nature, and applications must be submitted in duplicate at least 14 days in advance. All applicants will be issued an acknowledgment receipt upon submission of their applications.

Certain applications will not be accepted under Lokshahi Din, including matters pending in court, revenue and appeal cases, service-related or establishment issues, improperly filled forms, or applications lacking necessary supporting documents. Additionally, cases where a final decision has already been communicated will not be reconsidered.

Applications that do not qualify for Lokshahi Din will be forwarded to the relevant department within eight days, with a copy sent to the applicant. If the Model Code of Conduct is in force due to elections, Lokshahi Din will not be conducted during that period.

After each Lokshahi Din session, a detailed report on the issues raised and the actions taken is submitted within the same week to MHADA’s Vice President and Chief Executive Officer for review and further action.
