Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India Host ‘Xchange’ Workshop for Architects, HVAC Consultants

Mumbai, May 29, 2025: India is expected to witness a significant boom in residential and commercial infrastructure as it moves toward becoming a $5 trillion economy. Rising public and private investment in transport, real estate, education and healthcare fuel substantial growth.
Maharashtra is making significant strides towards achieving a $1 trillion economy and is contributing immensely to rapid urbanisation. Despite this, the Indian Green Building Council reports that, backed by government policies and initiatives, the state leads in green real estate projects.
To accelerate this growth with Hitachi’s latest Japanese technology in India, Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India Limited—a leading provider of air conditioning solutions—hosted the ‘Hitachi Xchange Programme’, a thought leadership workshop in Mumbai aimed at empowering architects and HVAC consultants while fostering stronger relationships with industry influencers.
The workshop served as a key platform for industry leaders to discuss energy-efficient cooling solutions, advanced HVAC technologies and the vital role of air conditioning in sustainable urban planning. It also provided an opportunity to showcase state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities, a global development centre and cutting-edge lab infrastructure, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.

“Hitachi Xchange in Mumbai is a step towards strengthening the region’s energy-efficient cooling solutions and HVAC ecosystem. With a collaborative effort among industry leaders, HVAC consultants and architects, we can enhance HVAC efficiency across commercial and residential projects,” said Rajesh Nagari, Senior VP, Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India Ltd.
“Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India Ltd is committed to delivering unparalleled performance and reliability, creating air-conditioning solutions that meet global standards.”
This workshop is part of its pan-India initiative, engaging over 600 architects and consultants to strengthen industry collaboration and contribute to India’s sustainable infrastructure growth.
Hariharan Balasubramaniam, VP, Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India Ltd., said, “At Johnson Controls-Hitachi, we believe that innovation in HVAC solutions is key to building a sustainable future. This workshop serves as the crucial platform bridging the gap between the architects and HVAC consultants of the region and empowering them to create smart, energy-efficient solutions for a sustainable future.”
Gautham Baliga, Director, Opal HVAC Engineers Pvt Ltd, Mumbai, and RS Kulkarni, HVACR Consulting Engineers, Pune, said, “Thanks to initiatives like the Hitachi Xchange programme for enabling us to recognise the vital role we can play in shaping sustainable urban environments in the region. These initiatives are pivotal in collaborating with industry leaders and architects to innovate further and implement sustainable cooling methods.”
