Actor Akshay Kumar Sells Two Apartments in Mumbai for ₹6.6 Crore

Mumbai, March 24, 2025: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has sold two residential units in Oberoi Sky City, Borivali, Mumbai, for a total of INR 6.6 crore, according to property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards on the website of Inspector General of Registration. Both the transactions were registered in March 2025.
Borivali, on Mumbai’s northwestern edge, is known for attractions like Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Kanheri Caves, and amusement parks like Water Kingdom and Essel World. Borivali East is favoured for its greenery, proximity to parks, and connectivity to Kandivali East, Dahisar East, and Borivali West. The property is located in Sky City, developed by Oberoi Realty and spread across 25 acres. It is a ready-to-move-in residential project offering 3BHK, 3BHK+Studio, and Duplex apartments.
As per the IGR property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards, Kumar has sold two apartments in recent transactions. In one transaction, Kumar sold an apartment for INR 5.35 crore, which he had originally purchased in November 2017 for INR 2.82 crore, reflecting an 89 per cent appreciation in value. The sold apartment has a carpet area of 100.34 sq. m (1,080 sq. ft) and incurred a stamp duty of INR 32.1 lakh, along with a registration fee of INR 30,000.
In another transaction, Kumar sold the adjoining apartment for INR 1.25 crore in the same project, which was originally purchased in 2017 for INR 67.19 lakh, marking an 86 per cent appreciation in value. This apartment has a carpet area of 23.45 sq. m (252 sq. ft) and the transaction incurred a stamp duty of INR 7.5 lakh, with a registration fee of INR 30,000.
Furthermore, Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan acquired multiple properties in Oberoi Sky City in May 2024, as per IGR property registration records.
Oberoi Sky City has demonstrated strong market activity, recording 208 sale registrations with a total transaction value of INR 818 crore from March 2024 to February 2025. The average resale property price in the project stands at INR 44,577 per sq. ft.
