Coming Up: Half a Kilometre of Skywalk to Decongest Noida’s Sector 62 Roundabout

Noida, February 8, 2026: With the laying of the foundation stone for a 530-metre-long skywalk, Noida’s Sector 62 is getting set for decongested times. The project, worth about INR 26 crore, will erect a grade-separated pedestrian corridor to reduce chaos and accidents at the busy intersection. Officials say the project will be complete in in 18 months.

The elevated corridor will include a 350-metre circular stretch that matches the roundabout; some 180 metres will be straight. It will be roofed to allow usage during rain as well as in extreme heat. Stairs, lifts and escalators are to be provided at four access points with exits towards Sector 62, Sector 63 and on both sides along NH9.

The skywalk will be of great help to residents, particularly those living and working in sectors 62 and 63. Thousands are estimated to cross the roundabout every day. One survey outs the number at over 50, mostly from buses and shared autos running between Meerut, Ghaziabad, Delhi and Noida.

The skywalk will let users cross from all directions without interrupting vehicular flow at the lane junction. An ordinary foot overbridge at this location was ruled out after preliminary studies showed that a straight structure would not be effective at a traffic roundabout.

The project is said to be part of the Noida Authority’s plan to develop a 3.5 km model road from Sector 62 to Mamura, a corridor that routinely faces peak-hour bottlenecks.
