Cooperative State University Stuttgart Professors and Students visit Bharat City Precast Factory
Budding Architects from Germany’s premier institution of urban planning have a field day at North India’s largest fully operational pre-cast factory
A delegation of students from Cooperative state University Stuttgart is an institution of higher education with several campuses throughout the state Baden-Wuerttemberg Germany visited the Precast Factory at Bharat City site in Indraprastha Yojana, Ghaziabad. One of the largest townships in NCR, Bharat City being developed by BCC Infrastructures Pvt Ltd using Pre-cast technology from Phase II onwards. The Bharat City precast factory is one of the largest fully operational plants in the whole of Northern India in association with Weckenmann Anlagentechnik GmbH & Co. KG from Germany.
The Cooperative State University Stuttgart delegation about 12 German students were led by Prof. Lothra Bergan , Head of Business Engineering, and other faculty members from the institute which is ranked as one of the top graduate planning education institute in the world.
Mr. Kumar Bharat, Director of BCC Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. said “Using pre-fab construction we have built one flat in the day in Bharat City and the entire tower we have constructed in a fraction of time of what it takes using traditional cast in situ construction method. Using pre-cast construction we can go a long way in realising the housing for all by 2022 plan of the government. Apart from saving the time of construction and labour for the developers, precast technology also helps us build high-quality construction that is earthquake resistant as well as following the green construction norms.
During the visit, students and their professors interacted with Mr. Kumar Bharat, Managing Director of Bharat City and with Mr. Ujjwal Shetty, COO Bharat City. After the introductory session by Mr. Shetty on the advantages of pre-cast construction and key USPs of technology being employed by Bharat City at their construction, the delegation visited the construction site and the factory for a live demonstration of the technology at work. Mr. Bharat accompanying the students during the entire visit explained the systems and processes at work and also took on questions from both students and their professors on the use of this technology in India vis-à-vis abroad.
