CREDAI NCR Urges Delhi, UP, Haryana, and Rajasthan RERA Authorities to Grant Four-Month Project Extension

New Delhi, August 14: 2026: Real estate developers’ body CREDAI NCR has formally submitted representations to regional RERA authorities requesting the swift implementation of a Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) advisory. The central advisory recommends an automatic four-month extension on completion timelines for eligible registered real estate projects due to global supply chain disruptions triggered by tensions in West Asia, CREDAI NCR said in a press release.
The industry body’s push follows landmark orders passed by HARERA Gurugram under Order No. 9/1-2026 HARERA/GGM (Admn) dated August 11, 2026, and RERA Rajasthan under Order No. F1(93)RJ/RERA/ESTT/2026/759. Under HARERA Gurugram’s order, any eligible project with a completion date, revised timeline, or extended deadline falling on or after February 28, 2026, automatically receives a four-month relief without requiring promoters to file individual applications.
CREDAI NCR emphasized that a unified regulatory approach across the National Capital Region is critical for operational stability, ease of doing business, and preventing procedural bottlenecks for both developers and homebuyers.
Welcoming the move, Vishal Gupta, President of CREDAI NCR, said, “CREDAI NCR sincerely appreciates the proactive and pragmatic approach adopted by HARERA Gurugram in implementing the MoHUA Advisory. The automatic extension provided through the Order will substantially reduce procedural difficulties for eligible projects and provide much-needed certainty to the sector. We hope that other RERA Authorities will also consider issuing similar appropriate orders so that the intended relief reaches all eligible projects in a uniform and transparent manner.”
Echoing these views, Nikhil Hawelia, Secretary of CREDAI NCR, highlighted the severity of recent operational hurdles, stating, “The real estate sector has been facing significant challenges arising from disruptions in global supply chains and availability of construction materials. The advisory of MoHUA to provide an automatic four-month extension, is a welcome and practical step. We look forward to similar considerations by Delhi, UP, Panchkula RERA Authorities in the larger interest of the real estate sector but in a time bound manner”
CREDAI NCR expressed optimism that the remaining regulatory authorities in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Panchkula will soon align with the central advisory to bring cross-border consistency across the entire region.
