Noida, June 10, 2026: In a proactive step toward strengthening residential safety, a comprehensive fire mock drill was conducted at Sikka Karnam Greens in Sector-143B, Noida. The safety initiative, which spanned nearly two and a half hours, witnessed active participation from society security personnel, maintenance staff, and residents, thereby fostering a collective sense of responsibility toward emergency preparedness, Sikka Karnam Greens said  in a press release.

The drill was meticulously designed to simulate real-life fire scenarios, ensuring that participants not only understood theoretical protocols but also experienced practical response mechanisms. To begin with, residents were guided on maintaining composure during emergencies, an essential factor that often determines the effectiveness of evacuation and response. Building on this foundation, safety experts demonstrated how to assess high-pressure situations quickly, make informed decisions, and assist vulnerable individuals in reaching designated safe zones safely.

Furthermore, the session transitioned into hands-on training, where participants were familiarized with the correct usage of fire extinguishers and other localized firefighting equipment. This practical exposure was complemented by detailed insights into controlling fires at their initial stages, efficiently utilizing designated emergency exits, and executing structured evacuation procedures—elements that collectively form the backbone of effective community disaster management.

In addition to resident awareness, special emphasis was placed on training security guards and society staff, equipping them with the specific tactical skills required for immediate response during a crisis. As a result, the drill ensured that the first responders within the society are not only alert but also fully capable of minimizing structural and personal risks before professional municipal help arrives on the scene.

Equally important was the hazard awareness segment, wherein experts highlighted common causes of domestic fire hazards, such as electrical misuse, short circuits, and everyday household negligence. Consequently, residents were urged to adhere strictly to building safety protocols and conduct regular inspections of private electrical systems and collective firefighting equipment to prevent potential disasters before they start.

Speaking on the occasion, Harvinder Singh Sikka, Chairman of Sikka Group, reiterated that resident safety remains a top priority for the real estate developer. He emphasized that while modern amenities enhance lifestyle quality, consistent adherence to safety standards is equally critical. “Our objective is to ensure that every family residing in a Sikka Group community feels secure and well-informed. Moving forward, we will continue to organise such awareness initiatives to reinforce a culture of safety,” he stated.

According to the society management, the primary goal of the mock drill extended beyond mere information dissemination. Instead, it aimed to instil confidence among residents, enabling them to respond to emergencies with clarity, vigilance, and presence of mind. Echoing this sentiment, residents expressed appreciation for the initiative and advocated for regular quarterly drills, noting that consistent practice is key to maintaining effective preparedness in the face of unforeseen situations.
