Godrej Enterprises Group Earns EcoVadis Gold Medal, Ranks Among Top 5% Globally for Sustainability

Mumbai, July 23, 2026: Godrej Enterprises Group has been awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal after achieving an overall score of 82, placing the company in the top 5% of organizations assessed worldwide for their sustainability performance. The rating reflects the group’s enterprise-wide approach to embedding sustainable practices across its manufacturing operations, governance structures, and supply chains. EcoVadis evaluates organizations across four core pillars—Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement—based on the maturity of their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management systems, implementation, and reporting, Godrej Enterprises Group said in a press release.

Speaking on the recognition, Jamshyd Godrej, Chairman and Managing Director of Godrej Enterprises Group, noted the growing importance of third-party sustainability evaluations in driving corporate standards.

“As sustainability increasingly becomes a defining measure of global business competitiveness, independent benchmark assessments such as EcoVadis play an important role in encouraging organisations to continuously strengthen their environmental, social and governance practices,” Godrej said. 

“Being recognised among the top 5% of companies assessed globally is an important milestone for Godrej Enterprises Group and reflects our long-standing commitment to inclusive & responsible manufacturing, ethical business practices and sustainable innovation. More importantly, it reinforces our belief that businesses can create enduring value when growth is aligned with the interests of society and the environment.”

The assessment highlighted Godrej Enterprises Group’s progress across all evaluated areas. Under the Environment pillar, EcoVadis endorsed the group’s comprehensive environmental policy, pointing to advancements in energy and carbon productivity, water-positive operations, zero waste to landfill achievements, expanded circular economy initiatives, and increased renewable energy adoption.

Anil G Verma, Executive Director and CEO of Godrej Enterprises Group, emphasized that responsible practices are central to the company’s long-term operational strategy.

In addition to environmental performance, the assessment commended the group’s initiatives in Labor & Human Rights, particularly programs targeting employee wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, occupational health, and continuous capability development. For Ethics, the evaluators noted a strengthened governance framework with robust policies covering anti-corruption, fraud prevention, whistleblower protection, and information security. Furthermore, in Sustainable Procurement, the group expanded its Green Procurement Program by embedding ESG criteria into supplier engagements and working with vendors certified under recognized frameworks like GreenCo, Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and ZED.
