Mumbai, August 24, 2026: Godrej Industries Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Haryana, in the presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, outlining a future investment plan of approximately Rs 20,000 crore in the state. The agreement has the potential to create around 40,000 jobs, building on the group’s existing footprint in the region. To date, Godrej Industries Group has invested approximately Rs 12,000 crore in Haryana and employs around 9,000 people across its various businesses, the company said in a press release.

Godrej Properties Ltd will serve as a key driver of the investment initiative. Having already invested approximately Rs 11,000 crore in Haryana, the company plans to deploy a further Rs 16,000 crore by FY28, taking its total investment to around Rs 27,000 crore. The developer currently oversees 18 projects across Gurugram, Sonipat, Faridabad, Panipat, and Kurukshetra, with its upcoming projects expected to create more than 11,000 jobs.

Expanding beyond residential real estate, Godrej Ventures—the group’s real estate private equity arm—plans to invest an additional Rs 3,500 crore in Grade A+ office infrastructure in Gurugram, adding to its previous Rs 1,000 crore investment in the state. The proposed commercial developments are projected to generate over 30,000 direct and indirect jobs, boosting the city’s commercial ecosystem and strengthening its appeal to multinational corporations and global capability centers.

Responding to the development, Pirojsha Godrej, Chairperson of Godrej Industries Group, said, “Haryana has emerged as an important growth driver for the Godrej Industries Group. The depth of its economy, the pace of urbanisation and the emergence of Gurugram as a major commercial and employment hub create opportunities across several of our businesses. We have invested significantly in the state over the years and our plans for further investment reflect our confidence in the market and our ability to build on the presence we have established. We’re pleased to formalise this next phase of investment through our MoU with the Government of Haryana and look forward to working closely with the state to bring these plans to life. We see Haryana as a market where we can continue to invest for the long term and participate meaningfully in its economic and urban development.”

The group’s auxiliary financial and consumer units also maintain a established presence in the region. Godrej Capital operates five branches in Haryana and has facilitated approximately Rs 550 crore in bookings through its financing business, while Godrej Consumer Products manages a network of 42 direct distributors and over 250 rural stockists. Parallel to its commercial operations, the group allocates approximately Rs 1 crore annually toward CSR initiatives and over Rs 10 crore toward regional infrastructure initiatives, including social support systems for construction workers, weather-related insurance, and public space restoration in Karnal and Kurukshetra. The group will continue collaborating with the Government of Haryana to support local development priorities and facilitate future multi-sectoral investments.
