Govt surprises again: appoints Arun Vir Singh as CEO of YEIDA
The Uttar Pradesh Government on Wednesday appointed Arun Vir Singh as CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). Only last month, he had been made the Additional CEO of Noida Authority in a major bureaucratic shakeup in which 21 IAS officers were transferred.
Singh was earlier made the CEO of YEIDA on October 29, 2015 and he remained in the post for eight months.
Speaking on his latest appointment, Singh said, “I have received the orders and will now be taking charge as CEO of Yamuna Expressway Authority and Additional CEO of Noida Authority.”
On August 16, the state Government had posted senior IAS officer Sanjay Agarwal as YEIDA CEO but he could not join the office in Greater Noida as he was busy in other assignments at Lucknow. However, on the evening of August 17, the Government suddenly appointed Arun Vir Singh as the CEO.
Media reports quoting unnamed YEIDA officials said frequent transfers of CEOs are affecting developmental projects underway along the 165-km Yamuna Expressway. “By the time a new CEO draws a plan to resolve hurdles affecting development, he is transferred. As a result, crucial issues in the way of development have remained unresolved in the last four years,” an official was quoted as having said.
