Gujarat CM and Ex L&T Chairman Lay Foundation for New Technical Training Centre
Vadodara / October 21, 2024: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel and L&T Chairman Emeritus A.M. Naik on Saturday (October 19, 2024) laid the foundation stone for the Anil Naik Technical Training Centre (ANTTC) expansion in Vadodara. The centre, which has been instrumental in providing vocational training to school dropouts in the state, is set to triple its capacity with the new facility.
This expansion will include two additional residential facilities for students and a dedicated residential facility for staff, allowing ANTTC to train up to 3,000 students annually. The new building will also include coaching classes for competitive exams like GUJCET, JEE, NEET- these are especially for the underprivileged children.
Established in 2006, ANTTC has trained over 5,000 students, equipping them with skills in various trades like electrical, mechanical, and IT. The centre has been a lifeline for many students from marginalised communities, providing free training and accommodation.
The expansion project, funded by the Naik Charitable Trust, will include new classrooms, workshops, and residential facilities. It is expected to benefit thousands of young people who have been unable to complete their formal education.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Patel praised the work of ANTTC and the Naik Charitable Trust in empowering the youth of Gujarat. “This expansion will further strengthen the state’s skill development ecosystem and create more job opportunities,” he said.
A.M. Naik expressed his commitment to providing quality education and training to the underprivileged. “We believe that education is the key to empowerment, and ANTTC has played a vital role in transforming the lives of many young people,” he said.
