Gurgaon to soon roll out an Integrated Mobility Plan

Gurgaon will soon roll out an Integrated Mobility Plan (IMP) to provide first to last mile connectivity.
Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner TL Satyaprakash made the announcement on Friday during a meeting with different stake holders to resolve Gurgaon’s transport woes.
According to media reports, HUDA has floated tenders to this effect and it will include all city roads maintained by different departments. According to the plan, the Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System Limited (DIMTS) will extend its cooperation to prepare the IMP to streamline transport in Gurgaon.
The meeting also decided to remove the jersey barriers placed ahead of Ambience Mall in the service lane of NH 8 on a trial basis for 15 days.
“If it enables smooth traffic, then these will be removed. But if commuters try to drive in the wrong direction after the barriers are removed, they will be installed again at the same place,” Satyaprakash quoted in media.
The DC also said the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to clear encroachments on the service lanes of the expressway. The entry and exit points on the e-way will also be widened and directions were given to the NHAI, Satyaprakash added.
