Home-loan app for santitation workers
The Clean-Up Foundation, a NGO working for improving the lives of sanitation workers in Mumbai, has developed a home-loan app for them.
The app was formally launched by 17-year-old Sanjana Runwal, Founder of the NGO, in the presence of Suresh Kakani, Additional Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The app, said a press release, will help sanitation workers in getting information about organised housing finance options and assist them in calculating their EMIs etc. in four easy steps.
Commenting about the app, Runwal said, “Our aim is to improve the living conditions of the sanitation workers who live in deplorable conditions. After conducting much research, we identified that they do not have proper housing in spite of having an adequate income. This home-loan app is a small step taken by us in trying to help them explore organised channels of housing finance.”
Kakani congratulated Runwal for her work and wished her success in her future endeavours.
