Integrated Awareness Workshop on RAMP Program at Noida Shows Way Forward to MSMEs
Noida, February 1, 2026: With the objective of empowering Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and promoting their holistic development, an Integrated Awareness Workshop under the RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) Programme was successfully organized on January 30, 2026, at Hotel Radisson Blu, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
The primary objective of the workshop was to provide MSME units with comprehensive information on various government schemes, export opportunities, financial assistance, digital platforms, and quality and certification systems. The program witnessed active participation from senior government officials, industry experts, representatives of financial institutions, and leading industry associations such as Laghu Udyog Bharati, Indian Industries Association (IIA), Handloom & Handicrafts Exporters Welfare Association, Indian Entrepreneurs Association, along with a large number of MSME entrepreneurs.
Welcoming the participants, Raj Kamal Yadav (IAS), Additional Commissioner and Managing Director, UPSIC Ltd., highlighted the State Government’s strong commitment to strengthening the MSME ecosystem under the RAMP programme. In his address, he provided detailed insights into the State level digital platform developed under RAMP – www.msme1connect.up.gov.in (UP MSME One Connect), describing it as a comprehensive one stop digital solution for MSMEs. He explained that the portal offers several advanced features, including an incentive calculator to help entrepreneurs assess eligible government incentives, experts availability for consultation for sector specific guidance, and access to training programmes aimed at building export competitiveness. He further informed that MSMEs can now view real time land availability for industrial and MSME setup in their respective locations, enabling faster and more informed investment decisions. Highlighting the role of flatted factory complexes, he emphasized their importance in supporting MSMEs with plug and play facilities for MSMEs, facilitating scale up of operations, cost efficiency, and improved productivity
The highlight of the event was the inspiring and forward looking address delivered by the Chief Guest, Alok Kumar (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Department of MSME and Export Promotion, Government of Uttar Pradesh. In his address, he underscored the pivotal role of MSMEs as key growth engines of both the state and national economy, and highlighted various central and state government schemes and policy initiatives aimed at enhancing their competitiveness and resilience. Referring specifically to the MSME and artisanal sectors, he mentioned that the creativity, craftsmanship, and artistic skills of Indian artisans are globally unmatched, and that by achieving scale, standardization, and stronger value chain integrations, MSMEs of the state possess immense potential to emerge as dominant players in global manufacturing. He mentioned that the huge reduction in the migration of MSME workers to other states stands as a clear testimony to the resilience, stability, and growing strength of the MSME sector in Uttar Pradesh supported by a conducive industrial ecosystem, robust infrastructure, and a proactive, industry friendly policy framework of the State Government.
Representing the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Government of India, Hemant Kumar, Deputy Director General, provided detailed guidance to MSME entrepreneurs on procedures and compliances required for entering export markets. He elaborated on key foreign trade policy provisions, export authorization mechanisms, and facilitation measures of the Government of India, while also highlighting sector specific export opportunities, market access initiatives, and support available to MSMEs for international trade expansion
In addition, the Guest of Honour, R.K. Bharti, Director, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, delivered a special address on government support and assistance programmes for MSME development. In his address, he shared detailed insights into key initiatives of the Central Government aimed at strengthening and promoting the growth of the MSME sector.
Post this a key technical session on growth opportunities for MSMEs through IPOs was conducted during the workshop.
