JK Urbanscapes Appoints Jayanta Das as President of Hotel Division

New Delhi, September 12, 2026: Real estate developer JK Urbanscapes has appointed Jayanta Das, President – Hotel Division, effective September 1, 2026. Das joins the company following a 33-year tenure at Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), where he held executive roles across hotel operations, business development, and property expansion. He most recently served as Area Director & General Manager for Northeast India, Nepal, and Bhutan.
According to a press release, the appointment comes as JK Urbanscapes accelerates the expansion of its hospitality portfolio across multiple markets and hotel formats. In his new role, Das will oversee business development, operations, revenue management, talent cultivation, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement.
Joining IHCL in July 1993, Das became General Manager in 2013, eventually directing both greenfield and brownfield hotel projects. His background includes operational performance management, community initiatives, and cross-industry collaborations within the tourism sector. He has also led vocational hospitality training initiatives in Guwahati and Agartala in partnership with state governments and Tata STRIVE.
Currently, Das serves as Convenor of the Northeast Chapter of the Hotel Association of India and Chairman of the Hospitality & Tourism Committee for the CII Northeast Council 2025–26. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from MBB College, Agartala, and a Diploma in Hotel Management from IIBM, Patna, alongside executive education credentials from IIM Ahmedabad, Nanyang Business School, and Michigan Ross.
