New Delhi, October 1, 2026: The Transportation Infrastructure business vertical of L&T has formally executed twin contracts, classified as one large and one significant project, from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai for the development of the Latifa Bint Hamdan Corridor, L&T said in a press release.

The first contract involves constructing a new road connecting Al Khail Road with the extension of Latifa Bint Hamdan Street. The project scope includes building bridges, tunnels, and associated road works. The infrastructure aims to enhance overall connectivity between Al Khail Road, Latifa Bint Hamdan Street, and Al Meydan Street, while improving access to surrounding development areas.

The second contract entails developing parts of Al Meydan Street. This encompasses the construction of a new interchange alongside associated at-grade roads designed to serve regional development projects and streamline traffic flow. Additionally, the scope features a new cycling track that will connect with the existing cycling network, contributing to an integrated continuous route running from Al Qudra to Jumeirah.

Both projects are scheduled for completion by the end of 2028. Once fully developed, the overall Latifa Bint Hamdan Corridor will extend approximately 12 kilometres, strengthening transit links between major Dubai road corridors, including Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Al Meydan Street, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and Emirates Road.

Upon completion, the corridor is expected to accommodate around 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, servicing more than 130,000 trips daily. The infrastructure overhaul is projected to reduce travel time between Umm Al Sheif Street and Emirates Road from 33 minutes to 15 minutes.
