Mumbai Board Hosts Live Webinar to Guide Applicants Through the Online Lottery Process

Mumbai / August 19, 2024: The MHADA Mumbai Board has reiterated the importance of using only the official website https://housing.mhada.gov.in and the “MHADA HOUSING LOTTERY SYSTEM” mobile app for submitting applications for the upcoming sale of 2,030 flats. This was the key message delivered during a live webinar held today by the Mumbai Board, aimed at guiding potential applicants through the online lottery process.

From August 9, 2024, MHADA’s official website and app have been open for online registration and submission of applications for various housing projects across Mumbai. Recognizing the need for clarity and support, MHADA organized this webinar to walk applicants through the application process and address any concerns they might have.

The session was led by senior officials, including MHADA’s Deputy CEO Anil Wankhade, Mumbai Board’s Deputy Chief Officer (Marketing) Rajendra Gaikwad, Chief Information and Communication Technology Officer Savita Bodke, and ICT Officer Sandeep Bodele. They provided comprehensive guidance on the application process and responded to participants’ inquiries.

Bodke highlighted MHADA’s adoption of the Integrated Housing Lottery Management System (IHLMS 2.0), a cutting-edge, computerized system designed to ensure transparency and ease throughout the application process.

“This state-of-the-art system is fully online and no human intervention, making the lottery process more transparent, accessible, and secure,” she explained.

She also detailed the steps for application registration, submission, and payment, emphasizing the need for applicants to link their mobile numbers to Aadhaar and upload Aadhaar and PAN cards for both themselves and their spouses via the Digilocker app. Bodke stressed that only Maharashtra state domicile certificates issued after January 1, 2018, with a barcode, will be accepted.

Addressing the nuances of the application process, Gaikwad urged married applicants to accurately reflect their marital status when filling out their forms.

“Any discrepancies in marital status may lead to the cancellation of the allotted flat,” he warned.

Gaikwad also clarified that divorced applicants will need to present their decree at the time of possession. For applicants from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Nomadic Tribes, and De-Notified Tribes, the submission of caste certificates and caste validity certificates is required at the time of application.

Gaikwad added, “If a caste validity certificate isn’t available at the time of application, it must be presented before the flat is handed over.”

He also outlined the eligibility criteria for those applying under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). “Applicants must register on the scheme’s portal to be eligible,” he said, adding that MHADA would assist winners with the registration process if not completed beforehand. He emphasized that the annual household income should be under Rs six lakh, and neither the applicant nor their spouse should own a permanent house anywhere in India.

To further streamline the process, Gaikwad noted that applicants must submit their income proof of FY 2023-24 Income Tax Return (ITR) and provide their ITR account password. “If two-step verification is enabled on the ITR account, it should be disabled temporarily until the application process is complete,” he advised.

He encouraged applicants to accurately state their total income as per the ITR and thoroughly review the information brochure available on MHADA’s website. The website also features answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) to assist applicants.
