Mumbai Ranks 91st Globally and 17th in Asia Pacific in Wealth Hub Index: Savills India

New Delhi, October 22, 2026: Mumbai has been ranked 17th in the Asia Pacific region and 91st globally in the Next-Generation Wealth Hubs Index, according to a press release detailing the Savills Spotlight on Wealth Trends 2026 report published by Savills Research.
The second edition of the report evaluates the Great Wealth Transfer and the next generation of wealth, examining how shifting wealth patterns are reshaping the global landscape of wealth hubs. The Next-Generation Wealth Hubs Index assesses over 100 wealth destinations globally across four core pillars: business, governance, and connectivity; wealth clusters and local environment; wealth management and taxation; and lifestyle. The framework measures the key drivers that shape a hub’s appeal to emerging wealth holders.
In its analysis of India, the report highlights that family offices play an increasingly central role in structuring investments, succession planning, and philanthropic initiatives. Real estate continues to serve as a foundational element for wealth preservation and family legacy, frequently purchased with future generations in mind. Wealth generation across India and Vietnam is primarily driven by entrepreneurship, technology, manufacturing, financial services, and real estate development.

“Mumbai’s presence in the index reflects the pace of domestic wealth creation in India and the growing role family offices play in structuring investments, succession planning and philanthropy,” said Arvind Nandan, Managing Director, Research, Savills India. “Real estate remains a cornerstone of wealth preservation and family legacy, often acquired with future generations in mind, and we are seeing demand grow for luxury living, wellness-focused services and convenience-led residential products.”
Looking ahead, the report identifies India alongside Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates as dynamic economies capturing global attention through rapid wealth generation, infrastructure investment, and enhancing lifestyle offerings. Across the broader Asia Pacific region, the overall wealth environment continues to be defined by the dynamic interaction between fresh wealth creation and family-led capital planning.
