Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu Applauds Infrastructure at Wadi Surgicals in AMTZ
VISAKHAPATNAM, April 22, 2026 – M. Venkaiah Naidu, the Former Vice President of India, conducted an official tour of Wadi Surgicals’ advanced production facility at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ). Accompanied by Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Founder & CEO of AMTZ Visakhapatnam, the visit served to highlight the company’s critical contributions to India’s healthcare manufacturing sector and the broader success of the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India) initiative.
During the visit, the Former Vice President expressed significant satisfaction regarding the progress of AMTZ. He noted that the zone has successfully realized the mission of making India self-reliant in medical consumables and innovative technology—a vision that was established approximately a decade ago when he laid the foundation stone alongside N Chandrababu Naidu, the company said in a press release.
Technical briefings provided during the tour revealed that Wadi Surgicals is currently scaling its operations toward a daily production capacity of nearly 3 million nitrile gloves. The facility’s ability to maintain high-volume output while adhering to international quality standards marks a major milestone in India’s effort to secure its own medical supply chain amid fluctuating global market conditions.
