NaMo Grand Central Park Wins DNA Paris Design Award 2025

Thane, August 1, 2025: NaMo Grand Central Park, the landmark urban greenspace in the heart of Thane, has won the prestigious DNA Paris Design Award 2025 in Landscape Design – Park & Public Space, Educational, Community & Recreation Facilities.

Conceived as a transformative public space blending sustainability, design and inclusive recreation, the 25-acre park has captured global attention for its innovative landscape architecture and people-centric approach. The award, announced in Paris, recognises outstanding design excellence across architecture, landscape, interior and urban planning.

Developed by Kalpataru Limited and delivered under the vision of the Thane Municipal Corporation, the park features India’s largest skate park, a three-acre artificial lake, fitness and leisure zones, an amphitheatre, elevated bridges and botanical trails that support over 3,500 trees, creating a vital oxygen zone for the city.

“We are deeply honoured to see NaMo Grand Central Park receive global recognition at the DNA Paris Design Awards,” a Kalpataru Limited spokesperson said.

“This award is a tribute to the vision of creating a world-class public park for the citizens of Thane. We thank our international collaborators, especially Landscape Architects 49 (L49), and the many urban designers, engineers, and planners who made this bold idea a reality. This is more than a park to us; it is a green legacy for generations.”

Designed by Landscape Architects 49 (L49), a globally acclaimed studio from Thailand, the park was selected by an international jury of leading architects and urban thinkers.

NaMo Grand Central Park has also been shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival (WAF) 2025, and will be presented at the global stage in Miami this November.
