Noida Authority makes changes to two Metro projects for city
The Noida Authority on Monday gave green signal to revise the detailed project reports (DPRs) of two proposed Metro projects — the 11- km Okhla Bird Sanctuary-Sector 142 link and the 15-km Sector 71-Greater Noida Knowledge Park-V link, according to a report published in the media.
The decision to amend the two detailed project reports was taken at the 188th annual board meeting of the Authority in Sector 6.
“The 11-km Okhla bird sanctuary link will now originate from the Botanical Garden Metro station and terminate at Sector 142,” said a senior official of the Noida Authority.
According to the sources quoted in the report, the 11-km link was supposed to run parallel to the Noida Expressway, as per the earlier plan. But we now want it to take a different route so as to be able to provide metro connectivity to more residential as well as commercial areas.
The second DPR amendment — for the 15-km Sector 71-Greater Noida Knowledge Park-V link — was in regard to the funding pattern.
The 15-km stretch will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3,884 crore and will have nine stations. The project is expected to be completed by March, 2021.
