Post-tremors, authorities issue advisory to builders
In the wake of the earthquake tremors across UP for the second consecutive day on Sunday afternoon, the three development authorities in Gautam Budh Nagar have decided to issue an advisory to city developers and individual plot-owners to follow guidelines of National Building Code and development authorities’ by-laws.
Rama Raman, Chairman of the three authorities – Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway, said developers will be asked to revisit and check their buildings for earthquake resistance and whether the structures conform to the standards laid down in the building code. The authorities will also form a team and carry out inspections.
“Without a structural safety certificate, the authorities do not pass the layout plan of a building. The engineers also check that buildings are developed as per conformity of the rules or not. But to avoid any mishap, there is need to revisit and recheck the system,” said Raman.
