Real Estate Hiring Surge: New Opportunities for Skilled Professionals and Construction Workers

Construction project scaled

Aug 12, 2024: The real estate sector, India’s second-largest employment generator, is currently experiencing a significant hiring surge. This boom is creating numerous opportunities for skilled professionals, with a particular focus on the construction sector, which is actively recruiting semi-skilled workers. A recent Indeed report highlights an impressive 86% increase in hiring across both sectors from March 2023 to 2024. This growth has been accompanied by a 57% rise in job seekers’ interest, with Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai emerging as the leading cities.

The sector’s rapid technological advancements and evolving market demands have spurred a technological revolution, transforming job roles, project management, and industry dynamics. The integration of technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and sustainable building practices is driving demand for a range of skilled professionals, including engineers, project leads, general managers, vice-presidents, and architects.

“The construction and real estate sectors are pivotal to economic growth, creating ample opportunities for skilled professionals and construction workers. As urbanization accelerates and infrastructure projects expand, the demand for a skilled workforce is expected to soar. By 2030, the global construction market is projected to grow by $8 trillion, reaching a total of $17.5 trillion. This significant growth underscores the sector’s crucial role in job creation and economic development, especially in emerging economies.”

He adds, “The industry’s adoption of digital and green technologies is driving additional demand for construction workers. The use of BIM, AI, and sustainable practices is not only improving efficiency but also transforming job roles. By 2025, India’s construction sector is anticipated to generate over 75 million jobs, highlighting the need for tech-savvy and sustainability-focused professionals. This shift is set to further enhance job roles and foster a more efficient and innovative sector.”
