Saina launches badminton academy at Gaur City
GHAZIABAD: Ace badminton player Saina Nehwal launched her first badminton academy at Gaur Citysports complex located in Gaur City, Greater Noida West, on Wednesday.
The announcement was made jointly by Saina Nehwal and Manoj Gaur, MD, Gaursons India.
The World No. 4 said, “I am happy to announce the opening of my first academy today and what better place can we have than a complete city — Gaur City. As a sportsperson I want everyone to be fit and sports is the best way to keep up with your health. Through our academy we would love to come out with competitive badminton players”.
Gaur said, “We thank Ms Saina Nehwal for choosing Gaur City as the place for her academy and with this we expect that the residents of Gaur City will feel the seriousness of our efforts towards promoting sports and healthy lifestyle. We are working on opening more such academies for other sports like cricket, football and tennis.”
The 18-acre sports complex has day / night cricket stadium, football field, athletic track, badminton, basketball and volleyball courts and all sports facilities available at the Gaurs International School like boxing ring, shooting range, wooden and basketball court etc.
