Sushmita Sen and Mother Rent Out Mumbai Apartment for Rs 73.76 Lakh Over Three Years
Mumbai, March 2, 2026: Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, along with her mother Subhra Sen, has officially leased out their residential property in Mumbai for a cumulative value of Rs. 73.76 lakh over a three-year term. According to property registration documents reviewed by real estate consultancy Square Yards via the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) website, the transaction was officially registered in February 2026. The high-profile rental deal underscores the sustained demand for premium real estate in the city’s suburban corridors.
The apartment, located in the prestigious Oberoi Exquisite development in Goregaon, spans a carpet area of 92.5 sq. m. (996 sq. ft.) and a total area of 115.29 sq. m. (1,241 sq. ft.). Based on the Square Yards analysis, the lease agreement is set for a 36-month tenure with a structured rent escalation. The monthly rent is scheduled to commence at Rs. 1.95 lakh for the first year, increasing by 5% to Rs. 2.04 lakh in the second year, and reaching Rs. 2.14 lakh in the final year of the contract. The registration process involved a stamp duty of Rs. 18,900, registration charges of Rs. 1,000, and a security deposit of Rs. 6 lakh.
Goregaon has emerged as one of Mumbai’s fastest-growing real estate destinations, offering a strategic blend of residential comfort and commercial infrastructure. The locality’s appeal is bolstered by its proximity to major business districts such as the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Andheri, and Malad, as well as its robust connectivity via the Western Express Highway and the Mumbai Metro. The presence of significant commercial hubs, including NESCO IT Park and Film City, has made the area a preferred residential base for corporate executives and members of the entertainment fraternity alike.
Sushmita Sen, who made history in 1994 as the first Indian woman to win the Miss Universe title, has maintained a prominent presence in the Indian film industry through celebrated roles in films like Main Hoon Na and the critically acclaimed web series Aarya. Her mother, Subhra Sen, a jewelry designer and entrepreneur, has been a central figure in the actress’s personal and professional journey. This latest real estate transaction reflects the ongoing trend of high-net-worth individuals from the Bollywood community leveraging Mumbai’s premium residential market for long-term investment potential.
