Two newly appointed Members of UP RERA to hear the cases from the regional office

Lucknow/ Gautam Buddh Nagar: The appointment of 02 newly appointed members of the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority will be at the regional office of the Authority located in Greater Noida, Gautam Buddh Nagar. Considering the plethora of work in the NCR area, this decision has been taken by the Authority in the interest of the stakeholders, especially the consumers/ homebuyers.
At present, because of a large number of complaints in the NCR area, 4 benches of U.P. RERA are established in the NCR Regional Office and 3 at the Lucknow headquarter.
So far in U.P. RERA, a total of 33,928 complaints have been registered under Section- 31 including 33,825 complaints of consumers in NCR area and 103 complaints of promoters. On the other hand, 10,741 complaints have been registered from allottees of districts outside NCR. Thus, the ratio of complaints registered in NCR and non-NCR is 75:25. The hearing of complaints under Section-31 as well as the implementation of the orders of the Authority are Equally important. The number of cases of implementation of orders under 40/38/63 is 4072 and non-NCR is 696 in the ratio 85:15.
In the past, one member of the authority, Balvinder Kumar, was working in the NCR regional office and the other 02 members were hearing at the NCR office and Lucknow headquarters as per the roster. At present, the ratio of the number of complaints pending is 6520 and ratio of NCR and non-NRC is 80:20. Apart from redressal of complaints and implementation of orders by Hon’ble members, work is also done related to review of progress of projects and this work is relatively more in NCR area.
At present, two posts of Member are vacant in the Authority, on which the selection and appointment process is being done by the State Government. The newly appointed Hon’ble members will soon take charge. In order to make the functions of the Authority effective and result oriented, it has been decided by the Authority that at least two Members will hear complaints and perform other works in the NCR Regional Office itself.
