UP RERA launches 20th Real Estate Agent Training Program at Gautam Buddha Nagar

Lucknow/Gautam Buddha Nagar, September 11, 2025: The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) started its 20th Real Estate Agent Training Program at Gautam Buddha Nagar on Wednesday. The four-day training has 44 participants and marks another milestone in UP RERA’s mission to build transparency, accountability, and professionalism in the real estate sector of the state.

The program was inaugurated by Founding Chairman of UP RERA Rajive Kumar who emphasized the vital role real estate agents play in strengthening the sector. In his keynote address, he highlighted the immense potential of the real estate industry, which currently contributes 6–7 per cent to India’s GDP. He added, “If we succeed in doubling this contribution to around 12 per cent in the coming years, it will be a remarkable achievement. Agents are at the heart of this transformation since they act as a bridge between the home buyers and promoters. This training will be a milestone for real estate agents because comprehensive and correct knowledge of core disciplines is essential for them to perform their functions properly and efficiently.”

Kumar further underlined that the root-cause analysis of grievances registered with RERA often points to a lack of non-supply of accurate and clear information to the allottees by the agents. He noted, “Such training programs provide clarity to agents, enabling them to pass on verified information to consumers. In turn, this builds trust and reduces disputes in the sector.”

The inaugural session was attended by senior officers of NCR Office of UP RERA. Senior officers from the Lucknow Head Office participated through video conferencing. Secretary Mahendra Verma welcomed the chief guest and outlined the objectives of the training, he said, “Real estate agents are the first point of contact for most homebuyers. By sharing correct information, promoting ethical practices, and raising concerns about misleading claims, agents can build credibility and strengthen consumer trust.” Principal Advisor Abrar Ahmed gave the contour of the entire training program, introducing the subjects and the faculty.

The first day featured technical sessions by subject experts, including Project Manager, PMU, Raghvendra Mandavilli, DIG, Stamp and Registration Arun Kumar Mishra, Revenue Recovery Officer Anshuman Singh.

DIG, Stamp and Registration Arun Mishra delivered lecture on the Stamp and Registration Act. Project Manager, PMU, Mandavilli taught the trainees about the Project Account Directions and the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), focusing on financial compliance and transparency.

Over the four days, participants will receive comprehensive training on various areas and subjects related to the real estate regulation, including the Apartment Ownership Act, consumer protection mechanisms, and project monitoring tools such as Quarterly Progress Reports (QPRs). They will also gain hands-on experience with the RERA agent portal, designed to simplify compliance and improve efficiency.
