UP RERA Commences Real Estate Agent Training Programme in Lucknow to Drive Industry Transparency
Lucknow, July 23, 2026: In a continued push to enhance transparency and safeguard homebuyer interests across Uttar Pradesh, the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) initiated its 45th Real Estate Agent Training Programme at the Indian Literacy Board on Kanpur Road, UP RERA said in a press release.
The four-day session is structured to educate real estate agents on RERA regulations, build core professional competencies, and promote ethical practices. A cohort of 43 participants is attending the training as part of their preparation to earn certified and registered status as real estate agents.
UPRERA Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy officially inaugurated the event, alongside Indian Literacy Board Director Sandhya Tiwari, who expressed confidence in the practical value of the training modules. RERA Secretary Mahendra Verma outlined the comprehensive four-day itinerary and urged attendees to engage fully with every session.
Delivering the keynote address, Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy emphasized that the credibility of the real estate market relies on three primary pillars: developers, real estate agents, and RERA. He noted that seamless coordination among these stakeholders is vital for safeguarding buyer interests and raising industry standards.
He highlighted that the curriculum provides an interactive platform for open discussion while offering deep legal insights into the RERA Act, the Apartment Ownership Act, and the Transfer of Property Act.
“Our objective is not only to ensure compliance with the law but also to build a trustworthy, accountable, and transparent real estate ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh,” Bhoosreddy said.
He added that the training empowers agents with foundational legal knowledge so they are not misled by developers, and announced that UPRERA has established a dedicated ‘Agent Query’ email address to assist certified agents with ongoing regulatory questions.
The opening day featured specialized technical sessions led by UPRERA officials. Principal Advisor Abrar Ahmad delivered a lecture on UPRERA rules, while Adjudicating Officer Harish Tripathi detailed key provisions of the Contract Act and Transfer of Property Act. Additionally, System Analyst Ganesh Mishra led a session covering project marketing guidelines and portal operations, followed by AIG Registrar Shanti Bhushan Chaubey, who explained stamp duty and property registration legalities.
A formal examination will take place on the fourth and final day to evaluate participants. To maintain complete fairness, all electronic gadgets—including mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets, and laptops—are strictly banned from the examination hall. Candidates who clear the test and complete the necessary fee formalities will receive official registration as real estate agents.
To date, UPRERA has organized 44 training batches across Lucknow and Greater Noida, drawing over 3,000 applicant registrations and training 1,777 candidates. With results declared through the 39th batch, 1,627 candidates have passed to become certified agents. Mandatory training and certification represent a core policy shift by UPRERA to elevate professional conduct and safeguard consumers across the state’s real estate market.
