Lucknow / Gautam Buddh Nagar, January 29, 2026: Taking another significant step towards making the real estate sector in Uttar Pradesh more transparent, disciplined, and consumer-friendly, the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (U.P. RERA) has launched its 31st Real Estate Agent Training Programme. The programme was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Indian Literacy House, Kanpur Road, Lucknow. This four-day training programme is focused on equipping real estate agents with professional competence, legal understanding, and a strong sense of responsibility.

A total of 39 participants have enrolled in this training batch, all of whom aspire to work as certified and registered real estate agents in the future. The programme was formally inaugurated by U.P. RERA Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Addressing the inaugural session, U.P. RERA Chairman Shri Sanjay Bhoosreddy stated that the stability and credibility of the real estate sector rest on three key pillars—the promoter, the real estate agent, and RERA. Only through balanced coordination among these three can consumer interests be protected and transparency and trust be strengthened.

He said that this system of training and certification for agents is a concrete initiative aimed at making the real estate sector in the state more organised, accountable, and compliant with rules and regulations. The Chairman urged participants to undertake a serious study of important laws such as the Apartment Ownership Act, the Contract Act, and the Transfer of Property Act, and to ensure that customers are provided only with verified and authentic project-related information.

He further stated that just as RERA conducts thorough scrutiny of all documents before granting project registration, real estate agents must also possess complete and accurate information about projects and properties and deal transparently with customers. This approach, he said, will further strengthen consumer confidence.

The UP RERA Chairman clarified that an examination will be conducted at the conclusion of the training programme, and certificates will be awarded to successful candidates. Only thereafter will they be eligible to apply for registration as licensed real estate agents. He also informed that U.P. RERA will introduce refresher courses in the coming years to continuously update agents’ knowledge and understanding. “The objective of U.P. RERA is not merely to ensure compliance with regulations, but to build a transparent, accountable, and trustworthy real estate ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh,” he said.

On the first day of the training programme, Legal Advisor Chandan Singh delivered a detailed session on the RERA Act, U.P. RERA Rules and Regulations. Thereafter, Adjudicating Officer Harish Tripathi guided participants on the relevant provisions of the Contract Act and the Transfer of Property Act.

Additionally, PMU Advisor Vaibhav Sahu provided detailed insights into the project registration process and the responsibilities of promoters. A special session on the provisions related to stamp registration was conducted by Shanti Bhushan Chaubey.

An examination will be conducted on the final day of the four-day training programme. To ensure transparency and fairness in the examination process, it has been decided that carrying any type of electronic device such as mobile phones, tablets, smart watches, laptops, etc. into the examination hall will be strictly prohibited. Candidates who pass the examination will be granted registration after depositing the prescribed fee.

So far, 30 training batches have been successfully conducted in Lucknow and Greater Noida, with over 2,300 candidate registeration. Results up to the 27th batch have already been declared, in which 1,095 participants have successfully completed the training and passed the examination.

Making training and certification mandatory prior to agent registration is a key component of U.P. RERA’s policy to strengthen professional standards in the real estate sector and to ensure effective protection of homebuyers’ interests.
