UPRERA Commences 36th Agent Training Program to Bolster Real Estate Transparency
Lucknow/Gautambuddh Nagar, March 13, 2026
The program was inaugurated via video conferencing from UPRERA’s Lucknow headquarters by a leadership team including Secretary Mahendra Verma, Joint Secretary Uma Shankar Singh, and other senior officials. The training curriculum is designed to transform the current brokerage landscape into a more organized and regulated environment. At the conclusion of the four-day session, participants must undergo a mandatory examination. Only those who pass will be eligible to receive certification and register as licensed real estate agents upon payment of the prescribed fees.
During the inaugural session, UPRERA Secretary Mahendra Verma emphasized that the training and certification process is a vital component of the state’s regulatory framework. He noted that agents bear a profound responsibility to provide customers with authentic, verified information regarding projects registered under UPRERA.
“The objective of UPRERA is not only to ensure compliance with regulations but also to develop a transparent, trustworthy and accountable real estate system in the state,” Verma stated, underscoring the necessity of formal education for market intermediaries.
The training schedule covers a wide array of critical topics, including the RERA Act, state-specific rules, and project registration processes. On the first day, specialized sessions were held on the responsibilities of promoters, as well as provisions concerning the renewal and cancellation of agent registrations. Furthermore, participants received technical training on project account directions and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). These sessions are aimed at ensuring that agents are well-versed in both the legalities and the ethical standards required to protect the interests of homebuyers.
This latest session brings the total number of training batches conducted by UPRERA in Lucknow and Greater Noida to 36. To date, more than 2,500 candidates have registered for the program. Statistics show that through the 29th batch alone, 1,189 participants successfully passed the examination and secured their professional certificates. By making this training and certification mandatory, UPRERA continues to set high professional standards, aiming to create a more reliable and consumer-friendly real estate ecosystem across Uttar Pradesh.
