Chennai, October 8, 2024: Urbanrise, a prominent real estate developer in South India, has recorded over 600 Expressions of Interest for its upcoming residential project, Codename: The Next Big Thing, located in Thirumazhisai, according to a press release issued by the company. The achievement marks a significant milestone in the pre-launch phase of the project, following an earlier announcement that more than 250 homes were reserved within seven days of opening.

The residential project is planned to comprise over 1,000 premium two and three BHK apartments, featuring more than 100 lifestyle amenities. Designed to cater to homebuyers seeking housing options in the western suburbs, the development offers varied configurations to suit diverse buyer preferences.

The surge in interest coincides with broader infrastructure upgrades in West Chennai, notably the scheduled inauguration of the 14.64-km Poonamallee Bypass-Vadapalani stretch of Chennai Metro Phase II on 11 October 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay are expected to participate in the inauguration ceremony at Poonamallee Bypass Metro Station. Once operational, the corridor will connect western suburban commuters directly to Vadapalani and the wider Metro network.

Thirumazhisai’s proximity to major employment hubs, alongside improving public transit and an expanding residential landscape, continues to bolster West Chennai’s appeal as a residential market. The 600-plus milestone reflects ongoing demand as Urbanrise moves forward with subsequent development phases.
