Uttar Pradesh Welcomes Yamanashi Prefecture Vice-Governor, Strategic Partnership Forged in Green Hydrogen and Infrastructure
Noida, February 1, 2026: Marking a significant milestone in Indo-Japanese bilateral relations, the Honorable Vice-Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, Junichi Ishidera, concluded a high-level four-day official visit to Uttar Pradesh. Coordinated by Invest UP, the state’s investment promotion agency, the visit focused on deepening ties in green energy, infrastructure, and sustainable industrial growth.
The 12-member delegation—comprising senior government officials, policy aides, and industry leaders from Kanadevia Corporation—engaged in a series of strategic meetings with top state leadership, including the Honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
Strategic Focus on Green Energy and ‘Green Hydrogen’
A primary highlight of the visit was the delegation’s keen interest in Uttar Pradesh’s burgeoning biofuel sector. During a briefing at the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Ishidera and representatives from Kanadevia Corporation expressed a strong intent to establish a Green Hydrogen Biofuel plant.
The proposed project features:
- Location: Strategic placement within Sector 10 of the Yamuna Expressway zone.
- Scale: An estimated land requirement of 10 acres.
- Sustainability: Integrated solar capacity to power the hydrogen production process, adhering to global green energy norms.
Strengthening Industrial Ties
The delegation was received by Alok Kumar (Additional Chief Secretary of UP & Chairman of YEIDA) and R.K. Singh (CEO of YEIDA), alongside senior officials Nagendra Pratap ACEO and Shailendra Kumar Bhatia ACEO.
The Japanese officials were briefed on the rapid progress of the Jewar International Airport and the surrounding industrial parks, which serve as a magnet for global manufacturing hubs. ACEO Shailendra Bhatia had given the presentation and briefed the pace of developments in Yeida Area. Following the discussions, the delegation conducted a physical site inspection of Sector 10 and Sector 29 to evaluate ground-level infrastructure.
“This visit underscores Uttar Pradesh’s position as a premier destination for global green energy investments,” said Alok Kumar. “The interest from Yamanashi Prefecture in our Green Hydrogen initiatives aligns perfectly with our vision for a sustainable industrial future.”
The visit concluded with a clear roadmap for investment. The delegation has committed to submitting a proposal outlining the project’s total investment size and projected employment generation and land requirements.
