Vaasavi Group to Build Hyderabad’s First Direct Metro-to-Residential Skywalk at LB Nagar
Hyderabad, September 17, 2026: Real estate developer Vaasavi Group has announced Hyderabad’s first elevated skywalk connecting LB Nagar Metro Station directly to its flagship residential township, Vasavi Ananda Nilayam. The project, being developed through group entities Vasavi Avenues LLP and SR Infra & Developers, recently obtained key statutory clearances to begin construction, Vaasavi Group said in a press release.
Once complete, the skywalk will provide direct metro access to 3,600 residents while serving general commuters along National Highway 65. The structure will replace a 10–12-minute walk across high-speed highway traffic with a safe, elevated 2–3-minute walk from the metro concourse into the township. The project secured No Objection Certificates from L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited and local traffic authorities, with proof-checking completed by IIT Hyderabad. Construction is stipulated to wrap up within 180 days from the execution of the agreement.
Highlighting the urban impact of the infrastructure, Vijay Kumar Yerram, Chairman & Managing Director, Vaasavi Group, emphasized long-term transit integration. He said: “We are building for a Hyderabad that will look very different, a decade from now, one where a resident steps out of the lobby, walks a covered path and boards a train without ever setting foot on a highway. Mass transit is only as good as its last mile, and completing that final stretch is where private developers can do the most for a neighbourhood, whether it is a shift worker reaching a factory, a child reaching school or a family reaching a hospital. The Skywalk is our first expression of that idea, and it has been engineered to carry far more than the footfall of today, so that it keeps serving the area as the network stretches eastward and towards the airport. Having its design and safety vetted by IIT Hyderabad gives us, and more importantly our residents, the confidence that what we hand over will hold its own for generations.”
While Hyderabad Metro has previously linked stations directly to commercial malls and IT hubs, this project marks the city’s first direct metro connection to a private residential township. Designed with 10 main pillars along the NH-65 footpath, the elevated pathway will feature dropping staircases, ramps, and lift integration. Separately, Vaasavi Group is preparing to deliver nearly 5,000 residential flats across ongoing developments, with handovers set to begin progressively from December 2026.
