Women leaders from three IPCs speak on gender parity in realty
In an industry-first, top three international property consultancies – Cushman & Wakefield India, JLL and Knight Frank, came together to bring their top women executives, as they spoke about their journeys in Indian real estate.
The event titled #ChooseToChallenge – IPCs Lead the Change was addressed by Charu Thapar, Executive Director, Property & Assets Management, Asia Pacific, Head of Strategy, Platform & Emerging Markets, JLL; Rajani Sinha, Chief Economist and National Director, Research, Knight Frank India and Deepali Bharadwaj, Executive Director, Human Resources, Cushman & Wakefield.
The web event was moderated by Anshul Jain, Managing Director, India and South East Asia, Cushman & Wakefield.
The #ChooseToChallenge panel discussed the topic of gender parity in the industry by sharing their experiences with the audience. It strongly upheld that myths and apprehensions around the sector must be dispelled to encourage women to join real estate and achieve personal and professional goals.
Speaking on the eve of the event, Rajani Sinha said, “All professions are challenging, and women have proved their strength in all of them. In real estate too, women have made great achievements. However, the sector suffers from many notions and stereotypes that often dither women from choosing the sector. I hope that through this conversation, we will be able to share the right picture of the sector with our audience and share with them our journeys. In the process I certainly hope to inspire people to carve their careers in this sector.”
