YEIDA to begin service lane work from January

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has said that it is all set to begin work on a 60-metre wide 18-km stretch of a service lane along the Yamuna Expressway from January next year.
According to a published report, this stretch connects Greater Noida with Agra. The service lane will offer toll-free travel to motorists. Work on this 18-km stretch, on the 40km service lane, was pending for one year because of land disputes between farmers and YEIDA.
“We have solved the land dispute with farmers amicably. They had earlier refused to give land for this important service lane stretch. We will pay Rs8,360 crore to farmers as land compensation for the 750 acres required for this stretch,” said a senior officer of the YEIDA.
YEIDA said it will complete the work in next eight to ten months. The budget for this project is Rs 30-35 crore.
